Your secretary has enjoyed visits during January with two ladies of '93, at their homes here in St. Petersburg.

A call on the Arnolds found only Mrs. Arnold at home; Arnold being North for a few days on business. A call on Mrs. Mason at her new address, 2462 3rd Avenue, South, found her busy looking out for her two grandsons and planning and contracting for new houses which she is building on some of her vacant St. Petersburg property. Both ladies were in good spirit and apparently in good health; the calls were very greatly enjoyed by your secretary.

Calls at Clearwater resulted in good chats with Ebbs '93, Harriman '05 and Stanley Johnson '87. As' near as your secretary can learn, Ebbs is pretty close to being champion of the "Shufflers" at Clearwater.

Both Harriman and Stanley Johnson spoke very highly of Dr. Fred Lord '98, who gave a talk on birds at a Chamber of Commerce meeting. Fred Lord was a youthful son of '93's good friend John K. Lord, during '93's career at Hanover. He is now a retired Dartmouth Medical College Professor, living at Dunedin, Fla. See January MAGAZINE.

Word from "Billie" Jarvis indicates that' he is starting out as class agent for the Alumni Fund for the second time with hopes of bettering the standing of the class this year. Let's not disappoint him.

Interesting letter from Sparhawk says, "Now convalescent and able to walk around with a friendly hand on my arm." His address is Hamilton County Home, Vine Street, Cincinnati.

Word has just arrived that Dr. Martyn was taken to the Rutland, Vt., Hospital on January 26, having apparently collapsed while on calls on his patients. Preliminary details are not very satisfactory. Here's hoping for the best.
