Two Dartmouth Men of Wide Experience with the Airwaves State Their Views on Radio's Faults and Virtues in the Handling of News and Opinion

THE THIRD part of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE'S current series on PublicOpinion in a Democracy is presented this month in the form of two articles on Radio as a mass medium of news and opinion. As authors for this month's discussion the MAGAZINE is privileged to have two of Dartmouth's top-ranking men in the broadcasting field: Cedric Foster '24, nationally known news analyst, and Jerry A. Danzig '34, radio official of varied experience, who is now program director for Station WINS in New York. Their views follow those printed in the last two issues on the nature and measurement of public opinion and on the freedom and influence of the Press.

Next month, the Movies as the third main channel of public opinion in America will be discussed by Walter F. Wanger '15, well-known Hollywood producer, and by Budd Schulberg '36, who has had a lifelong acquaintance with Hollywood, one side of which he pictured in his famous book, What Makes Sammy Run?
