ONE of the three major projects included in the Hopkins War Memorial Program is described this month in Prof. Arthur B. Meservey's article on the proposed new physics laboratory. Entitled Physics for the Future, the article starts on Page 13 and explains not only the details of the new plans but also the significance which the expanded laboratory will have for present and future teaching of physics at Dartmouth.
The series on Public Opinion in a Democracy goes into its third month and in this issue deals with Radio as a mass medium of news and opinion. Two authoritative articles, starting on Page 15, have been written by Cedric Foster '24, coast-to-coast Mutual commentator, and Jerry A. Danzig '34, program director for Station WINS, New York.
Some of the pictorial highlights of the 37th annual Winter Carnival will be found on Pages 22 and 23, and on Page 25 will be found a short article on modem methods of language teaching, written by Howard F. Dunham '11, Professor of French and Chairman of the Department of Romance Languages. An account of the Alumni Council's recent meeting in Chicago appears on Page 20.
