LAST month, the Utica Club tried something j new in the way of meetings. A group of green stalwarts, good and true, and their wives got reservations at the Hulbert House in Boonville, N. Y,, and enjoyed a weekend together on the ski slopes at Turin. While the weather was not the best, conditions were such that skiing was very enjoyable. We found the Turin open slopes about as good for our mediocre talents as any around. Our accommodations at the Hulbert House were very interesting. We had connecting rooms and more or less "took over" the place. The normal Saturday night Boonville crowd "joined forces" with us including a remarkable local pianist, who normally operates a punch press. Charles DeAngelis, Class of '08, Ex-District Attorney, livened the party with his north country companions plus star witnesses from previous law cases. It was remarkable to find his witnesses all in the bar. Wistar Williams '36 refusing to retire operated a wheel of chance adapted from a decorative spinning wheel. Gil Hurd '4.1 was last seen attempting to evade his chaperones, being the only unmarried Dartmouther present. Dr. Hyzer W. Jones Jr. '41 resolved to take up dancing seriously in "wife defense" against the Boonville wolves and his club secretary. The secretary, yours truly, found the events of the evening so strenuous that he omitted the Sunday morning ski lessons in the interest of playing host to our worthy presiDent, Jim Capps '19, who dropped in Sunday to pick up the pieces. We were saddened by Roland E. Chesley's 'OB, inability to be present. Charlie DeAngelis had a field day maligning "Dartmouth's oldest living graduate" (Utically speaking), so Roland is way behind.

We were much pleased to have Edward J.Collins '28, who is now teaching French in Boonville schools, drop in on us Saturday night. The party adjourned late Sunday afternoon, all firm in the belief that this type of weekend is still a lot of fun and should be repeated. So the gang plus guests will try it again over the weekend of March 1.

Our next formal dinner meeting will be held April 2, when we will be privileged to hear a message from the College from Herbert W. Hili, Director of Hanover Holiday.
