A recent write-up in the Berkeley, Calif., Gazette features a tribute to Dartmouth, and lists prominent alumni in and about that city. It was interesting to note that mention was made of two Berkeley youngsters already pointed to the hills of New Hampshire at Hanover. They are David Ritchie Smith, aged 6, and Robert Seldon Smith, only one year old, sons of David P. Smith, Class of 1935. The grandfathers of these two boys are the late Seldon C. Smith of the Class of 1897, and BobLeavens of our own class.

His record now is from a standing start to drive the blade into the ground 18 inches with one swing, so far as he knows this has never been equalled. He also reports that GeneLeach recently had a serious accident, his car skidded, rolled over and was completely demolished. Gene got out of it with only a broken rib, and was able to go home later in the day. It was a very close call for Gene.
