This Month
A DESCRIPTION of one of the war's great engineering achievements is presented this month in the feature, The Alaska Highway, starting on Page 13. Laurence W. Lougee '29, the author, was one of the Dartmouth men who served on this vital project, and his present story tells what the motorist will see during his 1671-mile trip from Dawson Creek to Fairbanks.
The five-month series on Public Opinion ina Democracy is concluded in this issue with an article by Prof. Michael E. Choukas '27 on Propaganda and the Crisis. Starting on Page 21, his article discusses propaganda methods and calls for public disclosure of the many anti-democratic groups now pouring propaganda into our main channels of public information and opinion.
A tribute to the late Prof. James Parmelee Richardson '99 has been written by his classmate and close friend, Joseph W. Gannon '99. It will be found on Page 19. This month's pictorial feature presents some familiar Main Street faces on Pages 18 and 19.
