ON WEDNESDAY, April 2, 1947, the Maine Association held one of its most successful meetings in recent years, at which we entertained many of the present Dartmouth undergraduates from Maine and their fathers.
At a short business meeting, it was agreed that the Maine Association would actively support a candidacy of John Parker '29, of Bath, Maine for the Alumni Council. Also, there was an announcement of a gift from Harold Titcomb of Farmington, Maine, in memory of his son, Captain John Titcomb, which has been placed in the Maine Association's Scholarship Fund. A campaign to increase this fund is planned for later in the year.
David Heald '42, manager of the Hanover Inn, was our guest and speaker from the College. He described the post-war program in Hanover and also explained problems and policies of the Inn in its important position as the headquarters of visitors to the College.
We very much appreciated having BobEnglish '39 present to play the piano for us as during his absence the singing of Dartmouth songs has been necessarily omitted.
