The Ivy League debut of Coach Tom Dent's hooters has not been entirely auspicious this fall. With only a handful of his previous champion aggregation to serve as a nucleus for this new team, the genial Coach Dent has perforce devoted himself to building character this year and hoping for the best next year, when some of his sophomores develop and the highpowered and (up to now) undefeated freshman squad contributes its quota to the varsity. After beating Brown in the opener of the Ivy League schedule, the Green lost to Harvard by the definitive score of 4-0 and the next week was edged out by Yale 3-2 in an overtime session. In the latter contest, Dartmouth amassed a 2-0 lead in the first half, only to be worn down in the last two periods, with Yale evening the count before the end of official playing time and going on to win in the ten-minute overtime.
BIG GREEN GOALIE LUKE SOULE thwarts a Harvard thrust in a hard-fought soccer battle on Chase Field. Coach Dent's charges held the seasoned Crimson scoreless in the first period but later succumbed, 4-0.
