PRESIDENT DICKEY and Prof. Robert K. Carr '29 of the government department were cited by the American Political Science Association last month for their work on President Truman's Civil Rights Committee report, To SecureThese Rights.

President Dickey, a member of the Civil Rights Committee, and Professor Carr, executive secretary of the Committee, were among those named in the presentation of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Foundation Award for the best publication in 1947 in the field of government and human welfare.

Professor Carr accepted the award on behalf of the Committee at the Association's annual meeting December 28 in Washington. The presentation was made by Dr. Charles E. Merriam of the University of Chicago political science department.

Other members of the Dartmouth government department attending the meeting were Professors Elmer E. Smead, John W. Masland, H. Gordon Skilling, Dayton D. McKean and Arthur M. Wilson and Mr. Robert B. Dishman.
