Over in the squash courts, Red Hoehn's racquetmen have been blasting their way to one of the best records in years. Led by Captain Zeke Straw of Manchester, N. H„ the team has wins over McGill, Williams, Army, Trinity, Wesleyan and Amherst and a single loss to Harvard with only the Yale and M.I.T. matches to come. Seeded No. 1 is Tom Ringe, a sophomore from Philadelphia, who dropped Straw to the No. 2 spot shortly after the season started. Izzy Stahl, a sophomore from Guatemala who never had a squash racquet in his hand before coming to Hanover, is No. 3, followed by Bob Mann, another Philadelphian, at No. 4. With five juniors, Dean Cameron, Stan Feldberg, Dave Kurr, Mike McGean and John Van Raalte rounding out the squad, Dartmouth's squash prospects are quite bright for 1949.
