Convening at the Blackstone in May for its last regular meeting of the past year, the members of the Dartmouth Club of Baltimore paid tribute to retiring President EdPierce '41 for a most successful year under his leadership, particularly highlighted by the April meeting when President Dickey came down from Hanover to address a group of 100 enthusiastic Dartmouth supporters. Succeeding Ed as President and stepping into his new role with the same vigor he demonstrated as Secretary is Allen Barrett '44. The remaining officers are: Charlie Armes '34, Ist Vice-President; Dick Koester '43, 2nd VicePresident; Art Lund '27, Treasurer; and Bailey Walten '43, Secretary.

Despite the lack of regular meetings during the summer months, the club was not inactive. A luncheon meeting in late June was followed by a July outing, held at DickKoester's summer home near Gibson Island. With wives and children included it was a pleasant and even exciting occasion, particularly for those youngsters and adults hardy enough to risk a spin in one of the fastest runabouts on the Chesapeake Bay, with Skipper Koester at the wheel.

Activities for the fall and winter are already under way, initiated by a luncheon Sept. 7 in honor of the freshmen heading for Hanover. These include Bill McCarthy, son of Jud '26 and Phil Fenton, brother of Matt '49 and Tom '52. We are looking forward, as the, year progresses, to meeting the new members in this area who have recently graduated.
