September 2 the members of the club got together for a luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel for a send-off to two successful candidates for the freshman class—Paul Bousquet and Edward Weltman—both from Pittsfield and graduates of Pittsfield High School. In time Paul should add strength to the ski team.

At the same luncheon the club took notice of the coming marriage of Howard D. Sammis '23, to Mrs. Nancy Esmonds of Pittsfield. They were married September 15. The club presented the proud prospective bridegroom with six Dartmouth plates.

By the way, Dixie Daniels '43, the president of the club, was also married this summer. Thus does life go on.

We miss Nickerson '29, former president of the Pittsfield National Bank, who has gone to Jersey City to be Vice-President of the First National Bank of Jersey City. Bruce Knapp '10 is laid up after an appendix operation, but the big fellow is coming on fine.

A Dartmouth-Cornell party is planned for the Saturday the game is played in Hanover. I he loss of one football game doesn't wreck a season, and the boys of Berkshire County are strong rooters for the team.
