Mrs. E. K. Hall Dies
November 1949

Mrs. Sally Drew Hall '47h, who with her husband, the late Edward K. Hall '92, was the donor of Dick's House and other benefactions to the College, died at her Hanover home October 15.

The flag on the campus was flown at half mast in tribute to Mrs. Hall, whom President Dickey characterized as one of Dartmouth's "great ladies of all time." He also said, She and her husband built their lives into the spirit and substance of this college. Dick Hall's House, unique among college infirmaries, given by them as a memorial to their Dartmouth son, stands as a tangible reminder to all Dartmouth men that they are truly members of a family whose home is Hanover."

The ALUMNI MAGAZINE, about to close its forms, is able to print in this issue only the brief announcement of Mrs. Hall's death. The next issue will contain a memorial account of her notable career in education, philanthropy and civic affairs.
