Springfield, Mass

The fall meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Springfield was held on Friday evening, October 7, celebrating Dartmouth Night. There were seventy members of the club present and several guests from the other Ivy League colleges and universities. Clarence Goss former president of the Dartmouth Club of New York, was present from out of town, as were Charlie Rice '23, Alumni Council member, and Fred Davis '23.

"Irish" Flanigan '23, president of the Alumni Council, was guest speaker of the evening. "Irish" gave a very forthright talk on the problems of the College today, and urged alumni to temper with understanding their criticism of the College. He felt that the administration was doing a good job in working out the solutions to many o£ the serious problems with which the College is con- fronted, particularly in the handling of the conduct of the students and, likewise, the admissions problem.

"Babe" Miner '23, president of the Club, presided at the meeting.
