Monday night, March 3, about 85 Dartmouth alumni and 15 graduates of Phillips Academy, Andover, got together at the Longmeadow Country Club to hear the Andover headmaster, John Mason Kemper. Dr. Kemper told the interested group about the study of schools and colleges aimed at more closely integrating the work of the two levels in the field of liberal arts education. It was a valuable evening, not only for the chance to meet and hear Dr. Kemper, but also because of the opportunity for the Dartmouth and Andover men to get together to exchange views. That exchange went on" until quite late in the evening, being especially instructive for those who sat around taking part in the discussion led by Dr. Kemper and another of our guests, Dr. William J. Sanders, Superintendent of the Springfield schools.
The dinner was also the occasion of our annual meeting. The new slate of officers is as follows: William A. Lieson '32, president; Albert E. Mayer Jr. '37, vice president; GeorgeE. Hopkins '46, secretary-treasurer; and M. O.Ferrini '29, assistant secretary-treasurer. The executive committee as follows: Albert E.Gibney '36, F. Warren Miller Jr. '40, FrederickS. Pillsbury '40, and Theodore R. Miner '23. We are especially glad to see the name of George E. Hopkins '46 heading these notes, taking the place of the retiring secretary who is writing these notes for the last time. For entertainment Ray King '15 organized a few impromptu vocal selections by a quartet. Gordon Shattuck '30 and Babe Miner '23 deserve an awful lot of credit for this most successful meeting.
