Springfield

Over one hundred alumni from the Springfield area jammed into the Longmeadow Country Club February 17 to hear Tuss McLaughry, and to meet Captain-Elect Paul Staley and native son, Red Bailey.

The enthusiastic alumni were well rewarded. Tuss brought us up to date on the football picture while Paul and Red gave us the players' slant on the game. A buffet supper and movies of the 1949 season completed the pleasantly full evening.

It was our Annual Meeting and the following officers were elected: Spencer F. Smith '22, President; Albert L. Gibney '36, Vice President; William A. Lieson '32, Secretary-Treasurer; Maugo O. Ferrini '29, Asst. Secretary-Treasurer.

This is a good place and time to thank sparkplug Ted Miner '23, our retiring president, for his work and leadership this past year.
