To THE EDITOR:
That combination of John Hinman '08 and his clan (photo in the February issue, page 53) makes a record hard to beat, but here is a slightly different one also involving '08: Royal Parkinson, 1842; his four sons: Robert H. '70, Joseph G., honorary A.M. '73, George B. '75, and William D. '78; the latter's four sons: Royal '05, Dana '08, Taintor '09, and Herman '13; Dana's son, Dwight '38; Dwight's uncle, Charles Bacon '19 (killed in war, 1918); and Dana's second cousin. Royal Parkinson Carter 'OB.
Without counting the latter or Joseph G. Parkinson '7311, there were 34 years when one or more of our tribe were at Dartmouth, and every generation for the last 111 years has been represented.
Enclosed is a photo taken in 1938 when my son graduated. I had my 30th, my father his 60th, one brother his 25th, one his 33rd, and one his 29th reunio
