Alumni of Dartmouth College gathered at the new University Club in Winter Park, Feb. 14, for dinner and an informal social evening. The affair was arranged by the Dartmouth Club of Winter Park of which Col. Frank W. Halliday '01 is President and D. A. Cheney '11 the Secretary-Treasurer, and brought out 48 Dartmouth men and their guests representing the Central Florida area.
Prof. Herbert W. Hill of the Dartmouth faculty and the official representative of the College from Hanover, was the honored guest and spoke to the group on the welfare and progress of the institution. In his address Professor Hill told of the physical developments of the campus and College plant, the admissions problems, student government and activities, the academic program and athletics.
An interesting "flash-back" to the "old Dartmouth" of three hundred students was provided by Dr. Edwin O. Grover '94 who also read some selected verses from poems by Richard Hovey and by Dr. Fred Pattee '88, the oldest graduate present, who gave some recollections of the College and Hanover in his day.
