Prof. Davis—our "E.B."—underwent another eye operation early in March with excellent results. He now can read large type easily and is able to write letters that are perfectly legible. The bifocals still bother him a bit out of doors, but that will gradually disappear. He already has begun research work again at Rutgers University. His prospects for securing living accommodations in Hanover for the coming summer in time to assure his presence at our 6oth reunion are reported to be good.
Of the 85 men who entered College with our class—69 in the academic department and 16 in the Chandler Scientific—there are now living 9 men who graduated with our class, and 3 who left Dartmouth before that eventful date, one o£ whom, Rev. Arthur Chase, received in 1912 the honorary degree of A.M. from Dartmouth. These twelve members of oUr class are now all retired from their professional or other life-work activities, except Perouson and Warden.
"Pergie"—'our class agent—now at the height of his professional career, in a recent letter to •our secretary regarding reunion arrangements, incidentally let out that he had just returned from a cruise to the Caribbean Sea and felt much rested. This indeed is news. Never before has your secretary known "Fergie" to put aside the exacting requirements of his profession to indulge in a respite from business cares long enough to take a real vacation.
"Doc" Warden—owx new class president—B4 next August,—for the past 60 years prominent in the newspaper world of his adopted state of Montana and leader in civic and governmental affairs there, is still active as publisher of "Montana's Best News Gatherer"—The Great Falls Tribune. A Director of the Associated Press, he commutes so frequently between his home in the Far West and New York City and Washington, D. C., that it is difficult to keep track of his movements. In June he will come East to make his annual visit to Hanover and attend our observance of the 60th anniversary of our graduation from Dartmouth.
As these Notes are about to be mailed aletter has been received from the Rev. Arthur Chase saying that he is in the Mary LaneHospital, Ware, Mass., ill with coronarythrombosis. Arthur had definitely planned tobe with us in Hanover in June. We sincerelyhope that with rest and good care he soonwill be restored to his usual good health.
