Rear Admiral Paul L. Mather 'lB, USN, Ret., was appointed War Assets Administrator by President Truman on April 28, succeeding Jesse Larson. Associated with the War Assets Administration since January 1947, he has served successively as Deputy Administrator, Office of Plans and Policies; Acting Deputy Administrator, Office of Real Property Disposal; Special Assistant to the Administrator; and Associate Administrator.
During World War 11, Admiral Mather participated in the assaults on Casablanca, Sicily and Salerno. From September 1944 to June 1945, he served as head of the Logistics Division in the Army and Navy Staff College, and later as instructor in logistics at the National War College. His Navy career began in 1918 when he was commissioned an Ensign in the Naval Reserve. Three years later he was integrated in the Regular Navy.
