As THE CLIMAX of its 25th Reunion in Hanover during Commencement weekend, the Class of 1924 presented to Dartmouth College its Class Memorial Fund of $50,000. This is the second largest amount ever turned over to the College in the growing memorial fund program, being surpassed only by the $109,355 which the Class of 1923 gave last year to raise the sights of all the 25- Year Classes to come. Previous to last year's phenomenal total, the record had stood at $20,000, contributed by 1922.

The 1924 memorial fund campaign was directed by Chairman Fred C. Shanaman '24 of Tacoma, Wash., and it was he who presented the check to President Dickey at the 1924 banquet in Thayer Hall on June 11. A large number of '24 men assisted in the raising of the fund but perhaps chief among these was Richard A. Henry '24 of New York City, who doubled as class treasurer and memorial fund treasurer. The class made its initial presentation of $3,000 to the College in November 1945 and raised the balance of its $50,000 since that time.

The total of memorial fund gifts made to the College now exceeds $450,000. The class funds function as endowment with the income each year being credited to the respective class Alumni Fund totals.

The Class of 1925 will next hold the center of the stage in the memorial fund program. Next year's 25-Year Class already has a substantial sum collected and its campaign now goes into its final and most intensive year.
