WINTER ACTIVITIES of the D.O.C. are featured in the latest Grantland Rice Sportlight, Operation Jack Frost. Made last winter on the campus with the regular Sportlight crew, the short film combines a well chosen sound track with some excellent photographic work.
The film covers almost all D.O.C. winter activities. Starting with a brief background history of the Club, it gets right down to business with Ross McKenney in his D.O.C. workshop. Snow-shoeing, the Club's cabins and winter camping lead to Carnival which, quite properly, receives some excellent footage—complete with beautiful girls, snow statues and ski racing. Walter Prager, Dartmouth's famous ski coach, puts his team through its paces with the interested Sportlight lens looking over his shoulder.
Through the cooperation of Paramount Pictures, which will distribute the short for release in October, about 100 of Dartmouth's alumni club and association secretaries will be notified when the film is to appear in their cities. Operation JackFrost is highly recommended and should prove to be an excellent public relations instrument for the College.
