The Dartmouth Club of Greater Lawrence met for its annual meeting on "Dartmouth Night," October 20, at the Merrimack Valley Country Club in Methuen. Again our attendance suffered because an opportunity to enjoy a perfect autumn weekend in Hanover was only 21/£ hours' drive away. However, 38 graduates turned out to partake of an excellent meal prepared by Mrs. AI Weigel '28, Ladies Auxiliary.

Following a rousing good sing led by BobSault '11 who is the director of the Music Department at Lawrence High School and assisted by Doc Wholly '34 at the piano, President Dick Sullivan '28 called the meeting to order. After hearing the usual reports, an effort was made by the secretary to explain to the club the need of the College for more scholarship funds and the general plan of the Dartmouth College Development Council to increase Dartmouth's endowment funds for this purpose. Considerable discussion of the problem followed but no definite action toward Alumni Club participation was taken, it being the general feeling that our group was too new and possibly too loosely organized at the present time

Our speaker of the evening was Chick Camp 42, Assistant Dean of the College. He reported in a general way the make-up of the student body at Hanover this year, and also the state of affairs with the football squad. His specific remarks which were most interesting had to do with the new selective service laws and how they would effect those of the senior class who were of draft age. Chick also described the R.O.T.C. program in Hanover and the manner in which it fits in with the regular curriculum of the College.

Following the speaker, we enjoyed a showing of a most spectacular color film entitled "Dartmouth Out Doors," prepared by and for the Outing Club.
