Two Dartmouth coaches and the graduate head of the Dartmouth Outing Club have been honored by being named to U. S. committees for the Olympic Games in 1952. Tommy Dent, soccer coach, has been appointed to the Soccer Committee; Karl Michael '29, swimming coach, to the Men's Swimming Committee; and John Rand '38, executive director of the DOC, to the Ski Committee.

This is the first time that collegiate representatives have served on the committees selecting the U. S. Olympic soccer and ski teams. All Olympic committees met in Washington, D. C., January 8-9, to organize themselves and to map plans for their work, which includes raising funds for their respective teams as well as selecting team personnel.

Dent, Michael and Rand will also serve on similar committees to choose and sponsor U.S. teams to compete in the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires in 1951.
