The Dartmouth Club of the North Country held its midwinter meeting the evening of February 14, at Chalet Call in Franconia, N. H. President George E. Clark '17 of Lisbon presided.

The Club was privileged to have Bob Hage '35 of the Admissions Office as its guest and to hear from him a very instructive and helpful discussion of admissions problems and procedures of the College.

The Club voted to adopt the program of placing the ALUMNI MAGAZINE in various school libraries in the north country.

Official notice was taken of the recent death of Henry J. Howland '94, of Franconia. He will be greatly missed by the alumni of this region.

We were glad to welcome as new members Richard Fowle '34, who is doing a great Social Security job for Uncle Sam and the people of northern New Hampshire, and Philip T.Struhsacker '49, whose grand inn in Franconia is nearing completion.

Others on hand included Arthur P. Gale 04 and Mrs. Gale, George H. Richardson '14, Francis G. Moulton '20, Secretary (also acting as Treasurer with Martin Brown Jr. '38, unfortunate enough to be in Florida), Harford A. Nay '23 and Mrs. Nay, Charlie Holbrook '24 (Vice President, who, with his radio station, has taken over the job of publicity chairman for the Club), Dr. Ralph Jones '26, Bill ('28) and "Tommy" Downing, Andy McLaughlin '28, Pete McLane '37 (former Secretary who came up all the way from Manchester), Doc Gene McGregor '37, Stewart Allbright '38, and Jim Raymond '40.

Dr. John J. Hall, of Littleton, was present as a guest of the Club, following the policy of having at each meeting non-Dartmouth men with sons we feel are qualified for Hanover.

Watch for date of next meeting early in April at Lancaster, N. H. If you have to go to Florida, Boston, or New York, reserve the first week of April for God's Country and Dartmouth.
