On Saturday evening, April 1, eighty Dartmouth alumni and wives gathered at the Coonamessett Inn near Falmouth for their first formal meeting since 1940. It was such a highly successful dinner meeting that a clambake is being planned for July somewhere on the Cape, and another dinner next September or October.
Following the cocktail hour lobster newburg and turkey dinners were served. All of which was a pleasant introduction to the remainder of the program.
Tom Groves '18 was master of ceremonies introducing the association president, GeneMagenis '28. Gene expressed pleasure over the fact that so many of the lovely ladies who married Dartmouth men were present!
Dean Neidlinger followed with an excellent talk on the state of the College. In his remarks the Dean covered finances, the problems of conduct, admissions and liberalism. The evening was concluded with a new college film, Dartmouth Outdoors.
