Today, in a world that's under more tension than Jane Russell's camisole, it is a fortunate reporter indeed who can say, "No sad songs for me". ... and really mean it. That's why, in this final effort as Thirty-Four's newscaster, our swan-song is a hymn of thanks to all you happy people who have kept us so well stocked with quips and quotes and news of all sorts that the old column just wrote itself. The occasional plaints from some of our brother space-fillers to the effect that the well's gone dry point up even more sharply the truth that ours has certainly been a plushlined Cat Bird Seat; and we're mighty grateful. Men, you were magnificent. And just to show how we feel, listen to this dream we had last night

Fellow name of Fungo, Hi Fungo, does publicity for a movie maker, came up to us in the interests of his latest assignment, a college picture, and asked that we name the one we'd most like to spend four years on a college campus with. Well our answer wasn't exactly what Hi had in mind (turns out he was thinking more of a co-ed type school). But anyway, here it is: "Fungo, old man, after due deliberation we are unable to settle on any one choice. Instead we've come up with a tie. Read these names, my boy, and use them any way you can. And blessings on your flicking film!" What Hi Fungo read was this:
