Bill Cheever was unable to make the Reunion in June, much to his regret as well as that of his classmates. He has been having serious trouble with his feet but is now coming along finely and otherwise, as he says, is in topnotch shape.... After the Reunion BillSykes spent some time in the States, visiting his four brothers. On his return to Puerto Rico, he found himself a capita leno (a native of San Juan), for just as he was leaving the people voted to unite Rio Piedras to San Juan, making San Juan the second largest city in the Carribean area. Bill says he has always enjoyed our reunions, but this last one was the best of all, "a real golden occasion." ... Ted and Mrs. Morehouse were celebrating their golden wedding at the time of the Reunion, consequently Ted's time spent with us in Hanover was very short. We had hoped to have them both with us, so we could have given them our hearty congratulations and best wishes for a continued happy life together.
Harry Gilmore writes that Harry Jr. '34 has been made Treasurer of the Berkshire Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Pittsfield, Mass., a well-deserved promotion. Gillie says he is feeling fit these days and the joys and pleasures of the Reunion did him a lot of good. It was certainly good to have him back with us again, as we had missed him very much. ... Ros and Beulah Bogue motored through New England on their return trip to Michigan and they report a grand trip, as well as a most happy time in Hanover. They are strong for an interim reunion in '53 or '54. What do the rest of you say?
