Development Associate

GILBERT R. TANIS '38 has been appointed an Associate with the Dartmouth Development Council and has assumed his duties in Hanover.

Coming to the College from a position with the International Paper Company which he has had for the last three years, Mr. Tanis is now in charge of the regional organizations being created to handle the capital gifts work of the College development program.

He received the degree of Master of Business Administration from Harvard in 1940 and then, except for two years of service in the Navy, was affiliated with Curtis Propeller in Caldwell, N.J., for a period of eight years. As an undergraduate he was active in the International Relations Club, a member of the Interfraternity Council, and president of the Ledyard Canoe Club. He is married to the former Frances A. Holloway and has three children.
