The above was the headline news which emanated from the November 1 meeting of 1930's Executive Committee at the Dartmouth Club in New York, at which 21 present and past members of the Executive Committee were in attendance. The Executive Committee was faced with the problem of finding someone to take the place of Dick Bowlen, who has established such remarkable Alumni Fund records during the past two years, but who found it necessary to forego continuing with the office of Class Agent for another year. The Executive Committee was most enthusiastic in its choice of Ed Schuster and Ed was given assurances by the members of the Committee that he could look forward to the whole-hearted support and cooperation of each member of the Class in undertaking this important job for the Class and for the College.
After considering various other matters of importance in connection with Class affairs, the Executive Committee group adjourned to participate in a dinner meeting with the 1930 New York-New Jersey group at the Dartmouth Club, at which Director of Admissions Al Dickerson was the principal speaker. Chairman and Toastmaster for the dinner was Al McGrath, who expressed the feeling of each man present when he said, "What a lot of lucky individuals we are to be here collectively." It was a miniature 1930 reunion,—but with 52 Thirtymen in attendance it was not so "miniature" after all. Indeed, it was a real treat and occasion to be able to see so many classmates at a single time. Those in attendance included the following: Stark, VanDerbeck, Art Hayes, Page, Bud French, Chilcote, Kip Chase, Hillson, Fisk, Tilt, Condon, Rauch, Tiedtke, Dickerson, McFarland, Al McGrath, Barker, Chittim, Golan, Jim Mitchell, Day, Schneebeli, Chandler, Scribner, Reinhart, McDonough, Schuster, Buhler, Eldredge, Mclnnes, Kindermann, Sigler, Blakey, Borella, John French, Embree, Warner, Jessup, Rich, Ed Cole, Callaway, Bowes, Ackley, Johnes, Behal, Wooster, Osgood, Allyn, Rockefeller, Haffenreffer, Wasmer and Browning. Those in attendance at this gala occasion also had the rare treat of listening to an intimate talk by Al Dickerson on admissions problems and situations which are constantly being faced by his office in Hanover. The next '30 Class Dinner at the New York Dartmouth Club will be on January 10.
An award to the person coming the greatest distance was easily captured by JohnnyTiedtke who was sitting in his office in Florida on the morning of the dinner when he was called on the telephone by Al McGrath. When Johnny learned of the potential size of the group who would be in attendance at the dinner he needed no more persuasion and managed to get space on a 1:00 plane which brought him into New York just as the group was foregathering at the Dartmouth Club. The next dinner of the New York-New Jersey 1930 group is scheduled for the Dartmouth Club of New York on January 10.

A welcome note from Snub Poehler, who is Principal of the Wilton Junior High School in Wilton, Conn., not only renewed his standing invitation to Thirtymen to make a slight detour from the Merritt Parkway and have lunch with him at the school, but also produced the news that Ranny Hobbs had been re-elected Chairman of the Darien, Conn., School Board.. . . During the year 1951 up to the middle of November, Ted had covered 34,000 miles in his travels During November EddieJeremiah was the principal speaker at a meeting of the Alumni Association of Northern New Jersey in East Orange. The news comes to our ear to the effect that Eddie overslept the morning of his scheduled speaking date, missed the train from White River Junction, and accordingly had to drive all the way from Hanover to East Orange in order to make the dinner. But, as you might guess, Eddie made it, much to the delight of the Thirtymen present, who were Bill Blanchard,Bud French, Ave Raube, Hos Allyn and VanVanDerbeck.
