Following a dinner at the Outing Club last spring, the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Vermont elected new officers for the year 1952-53, and heard the report by Jim Oberlander '26 on the high percentage of applicants accepted from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. From Vermont alone 11 out of the 14 applicants were accepted, indicating that the small-town boys are holding their own, as far as admission to the College is concerned.
The following slate of officers was elected: Robert Noble '14, president; Lewis Putnam '23, first vice-president; Sterry Waterman '22, second vice-president; Proctor Page Jr. '42, third vice president; Albert Bliss '27, secretary and treasurer.
Al Dickerson '30, director of admissions, was the principal speaker at the meeting. He was given a rising vote of thanks for his excellent talk, and the same was tendered to F. Ray Adams '19, retiring president, for his faithfully performed duties during the past year, especially for the ground work accomplished in organizing local groups as part of the State Association.
