Class of 1925 Creates Four- Year Scholarship
February 1952

PROMPTED by the offer of $2500 from an anonymous member of the Class of 1925, the Executive Committee of the Class has matched the gift by a contribution of $2500 from the Class Treasury and established the Class of 1925 Scholarship Fund. The anonymous contributor has offered an additional $2500 when the Class matches this amount, and in the two weeks before New Year's Day eight members of the Class sent checks totalling $1000 toward this sum.

The initial goal of the Class is $10.000, and the secondary goal is $25,000. When the fund begins functioning, freshman candidates possessing Barrett Cup and Rhodes Scholar qualifications will be sought, and the award will be made by the College through its present admissions system in consultation with the Class Scholarship Committee. The scholarship will be retained by the recipient through four years at Dartmouth, providing he remains in good standing and continues to need financial aid.

The last class to establish such a scholarship fund was the Class of 1894, whose fund now stands on the books of the College at $25,664.

John H. Davis, Jr. and Rudolf F. Haffen reffer III are co-chairmen of the 1925 Fund.
