JAMES D. LANDAUER '23, chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Hanover Inn, announced last month that a series of studies of the services and facilities of the Inn has been completed and that plans have been made for a number of improvements and innovations. In these studies, undertaken as part of a long-term program, the Board has had special assistance from William L. Marcy Jr. '21, chairman of the board of directors of Hotels Statler Inc., and Victor G. Borella '30, vice president in charge of operations of Rockefeller Center.

Following studies of the Inn's food and kitchen operations made by J. C. Hevenor, vice president of Hotels Statler, the management of the beverage and restaurant departments was entrusted to A. L. Zollikofer, owner of the Hotel Coolidge at White River Junction, Vt. Mr. Landauer stated that since Mr. Zollikofer took over many favorable comments about Inn meals have been made by guests.

In addition, he reported that work on the alteration and refurnishing of the Inn's Coffee Shop is currently in progress, and that a survey of the Inn's heating, ventilating, electric wiring and plumbing systems has been made by L. Schoeller, head of the engineering design department of Rockefeller Center, which calls for the initiation of both immediate and longterm improvements. Following a study made by Helen McQuillan, interior decorator for the Statler Studios, he pointed out that redecorating, refurnishing and recarpeting of the lobby, guest and other rooms will be effected over the next few years. A job analysis and appraisal of all duties of the Inn's personnel have also been made by J. C. Hevenor, and are proving useful to the Board in its planning.
