New York Club Gives Scholarship of $1200
February 1952

THE Dartmouth College Club of New York has inaugurated a $1200 a year scholarship to be awarded to students from New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and Northern New Jersey. The decision to establish the new scholarship was made by the Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Club. Harry H. Enders '29, president of the Club, appointed Carl P. Ray '37 as chairman of a committee including John E. Foster '23 and Howard M. Chapin '28 to confer with the College on terms of the annual award.

The scholarship is made possible by the Club's operating surplus at its 39th Street headquarters and is unique in that no alumni solicitation has been required. The first award of the new scholarship will be made next fall.

The new scholarship is separate from the already established Greater New York Scholarship Endowment Fund which is growing steadily and now amounts to over $19,000. The encouraging growth of the Greater New York Fund together with the new Dartmouth Club Award will be of assistance to alumni in the New York area engaged in enrollment activity.
