The last bulletin from this correspondent indicated that Coach Michael had been slugged by that old devil graduation, as a result of which this year's aggregation is far from the outstanding group which Dartmouth has fielded (if that expression is warranted in swimming) in the last couple of years. Before Christmas, the team beat Bowdoin, and then after Christmas the meet with Boston University was canceled because of transportation difficulties. Then they met Springfield College, who took them into camp by the one-sided score of 56-28. We hasten to add that the Gymnasts are by no means bush-league opposition, and indeed have several intercollegiate champions and near-champions on their roster.

The best the Green could do in this encounter was two first places. The first victory came in the 300-yard medley, when Pendleton, Tilden, and Prior combined their talents to win by, inches. The other victory was engineered by John Heyn, last year's freshman captain, who won the 60yard freestyle. The rest of Dartmouth's 28 points came as follows: Luker third in the 220-yard freestyle; Mullins third in the 120yard individual medley; Wolfer second in the fancy dive; Captain Kay second and Bersch third in the 100-yard freestyle; Pendleton second and Bersch third in the 200-yard backstroke; Prior third in the 200-yard breaststroke; Spurgin second and Luker third in the 440-yard freestyle. And that was about it.
