WORD gets around in Hanover, so it did not long remain a secret that John Pearson '11 had recently regaled some of his Dartmouth friends with a jovial account of the intercollegiate balloon race in which he represented the College forty years ago. He has been persuaded to let the ALUMNI MAGAZINE readers in on the story, and we know you will find it highly amusing. In The First (andOnly) College Balloon Race (Page 13) the contributions of the Dartmouth Aero Club no longer remain unsung.

For the past four years, Arthur H. Chivers '02, Professor of Botany, Emeritus, has singlehandedly been digging into the history and records of the Dartmouth Cemetery and bringing them up to date. This work has led to his article The Old Dartmouth BuryingGround (Page 19), telling about a historic part of Hanover that few Dartmouth men know about.

A short pictorial feature on the laboratory facilities provided by the new wing of Wilder Hall will be found on Page 12.
