Twenty seniors from the high schools of Kansas City were on hand for the annual Christmas luncheon which was held last December 27 at the Kansas City Club. Several weeks before this occasion, groups of alumni members had visited these schools and conducted informal interviews with those seniors who were interested in learning more about Dartmouth. At that time an invitation had been issued to those men who appeared to have more than a passing curiosity about the College. About 25 alumni attended as well, and a contemporary account of life in Hanover was afforded by Dean Allard and Willard Small, members of the class of '55, who took time off from their holiday activities to talk to the guests about Dartmouth as it is today.
Everyone present felt that the luncheon was a great success, and plans are now in progress to follow it up with another meeting which would include movies of the College and a College representative to further inform prospective freshmen from this area about Dartmouth and all it offers. It seems certain that these activities have stimulated interest in Dartmouth here, and the "Heart of America" looks forward to having an especially fine representation in the class of '56.
