WITH Streeter as headquarters, 55 oughteighters and 32 of their wives assembled for their synthetic 45th in a completely successful reunion.
On that occasion we went over the top in our Alumni Fund quota and furthermore voted to turn over the College our Class Memorial Fund gift of $20,000. This was voted at the class meeting held on Friday afternoon. All Class officers were reelected, including Mike Stearns, president; Larry Symmes, secretary; Ted Barnes, treasurer; and Art Lewis, class agent. Bill Knight will continue to write the class column in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.
On Saturday morning Syd Ruggles gave a travelogue in Silsby Hali in which he showed and described winter scenes which he had taken in Labrador. They were startling to say the least and would have graced the NationalGeographic. Mort Hull also showed on the screen his delightful trip to Hawaii. Both were high spots of the reunion and greatly appreciated by us all.
Our Class dinner was held at the Outing Club House on Saturday with Mort Hull and his guitar presiding, while the ladies ate dinner at the Inn and later attended the Players' show in Webster Hall.
On Sunday morning a memorial service was held in Rollins Chapel. Services were impressively conducted by our class parson, Rev.William F. English of Norwood, Mass., assisted by Pop Chesley at the piano.
Several of our classmates who had expected to be present were unable to make it at the last minute. We missed them as we are sure they missed the great good fellowship of what was surely our best reunion.
The committee in charge of arrangements headed by Prexy Stearns did a wonderful job right through. They are entitled to several Wah-Hoo-Wahs (they received one) for their time and effort which contributed so much to this great occasion. Make your resolutions now to be present at our 50th.
