New Alumni Fund records were set as the 1952 Fund soared over the $600,000 figure, with the number of contributors topping 16,000 for the first time. Final figures were unavailable as this issue of the Alumni Magazine went to press, but new records in all respects were assured for the second consecutive year.
The 1952 Alumni Fund not only surpassed its 1500,000 objective, but also topped the 1951 total of $577,000. Of the amount raised this year, the greater part will be used to meet 1951-52 operating expenses. As for the balance, it was voted at the June meeting of the Alumni Council that "any surplus . ..
be divided into two parts: one to be used currently and the other to serve as endowment for one or more major scholarships."
To Kenneth M. Henderson '16, fund chairman, to the 1200 alumni workers and to all the loyal and generous alumni and friends of the College go the heartfelt thanks of the entire Dartmouth community for a miracle of accomplishment.
