DONALD L. BARR '18, who has been Ass istant Treasurer of the College for the past 15 years, resigned that position on June 30, with other plans for continuing his work in the investment field. His resignation was formally accepted at the June meeting of the Trustees.
As Assistant Treasurer, Mr. Barr's chief responsibility at Dartmouth has been the handling of college investments. Before coming to Hanover in 1937 as aide to Halsey C. Edgerton '06, then Treasurer of the College, he was associated with L. F. Rothschild and Co., Dick and Merle-Smith, and other investment firms in New York. Since 1938 he has been treasurer of the Class of 1918, and in 1941 he was elected the first president of the Class Treasurers Association. His work for 1918 was honored in 1946 when he won the annual Class Treasurers' Award. Active in Hanover affairs, he has been Town Auditor since 1943 and a member of the Corporation of the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and of the Dartmouth Savings Bank.
