THE British Government announced this summer the establishment of twelve Marshall Scholarships to be be awarded annually to American graduate students wishing to study at a British University. These grants, available for the first time in 1954-55, will each cover a two-year period which may be extended to three. They are a gesture of thanks by the British Government for Marshall Aid.
The scholarships will provide £550 a year, with an extra £200 a year for married men. Transportation will be provided from home to the British university and back. Eligible for competition are U.S. citizens, men or women, under the age of 28, who are graduates of accredited U.S. colleges or universities.
Applications for the 1954-55 scholarships must be made by November 1, 1953. Further information may be obtained from British Information Services (Education), 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York 20, N. Y.
