Malcolm "Boog" McLoud will guide the ship of class destinies as Class Agent for the next two drives until we reune for our Tenth in June 1954. The "Boog" succeeds VonPfeifle, who, because of new outside obligations is unable to carry on with the crusade. That's a real back-breaker, that Class Agent's job, and I know you'll all join me in my deep thanks to Don for the endless hours and energy he has devoted to it and the swell job he did for us in the past four years.
A Tuck School graduate with an eye for a buck .. . and with several years experience in the sales promotion department of U.S. Rubber... the "Boog" is looking to fill the coffers this spring. I hope you'll all give him special support this year.
Just before Christmas, Horace Blood went to Tokyo for an ENT Conference, and while thumbing through the pages of the NipponTimes came across a familiar face in the sports section .. . none other than the good Rev. Don Oakes, waving a confident farewell from the rear platform of the Osaka Express as he and his favored Rikkyo eleven sallied forth in quest of the national grid title against the western Japan champs. No Frank Leahy, he declared, "We don't expect an easy time but we will score and Kwansei Gakuin defensively looks no stronger than Keio University" ... who, incidentally, fell before Rikkyo Ravagers 27-6 earlier in the season. Horace did not announce the outcome. We'll have to wait till next month. He did however mention that Capt. Paul Livingston had been in Osaka just before he (Horace) was assigned there.
