The "reactivated" Dartmouth Club of Hawaii held its final meeting of '52 at Ciro's in downtown Honolulu on the night of December in. The oldtimers were represented by Col. Dean DeMerritt '12, Dr. Hastings Walker '21, Roger Benezet '32, Louis Valier '37, Roland Higgins '44, Jim Doole '45, Cline Mann '45, Bill Rolph '45, Hugh Shearer '48, Bill Dunford '50 and Pete Nottage '50.
Dr. Andy Morgan '42 has returned to Honolulu and started his own practice. Second Lt.Bill Monahan '51, recently home from Korea, is stationed at Pearl Harbor and is also continuing his football by playing with the Hawaiian Forty-Niners.
We are very proud to add Processor Emeritus Louis Benezet '99 to our membership. He has come to the Paradise of the Pacific to retire and be near his son, Roger. Roger is an active Honolulu architect and the president of our Dartmouth Club. Fred Richardson '46, a newcomer to the Islands, promises to be an active member of our organization.
Our always welcome transient guests for the evening were Ens. Bill Frenzel '50 and Lt. (jg)Don Hall '50. Don has been on duty at Pearl Harbor, while Bill is on his way home after a tour in the Pacific.
The meeting consisted of a bull session over cocktails, dinner, and a talk by Dr. Walker who had made the Hanover trek earlier in the year to see his son, David, presently attending the College. Dr. Walker brought us up to date on the Hanover situation, while Professor Benezet and Col. DeMerritt interspersed the informal talk with their own comments.
Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 5. Any alumni in the area are cordially invited and are asked to contact PeteNottage; home phone 961522, or business phone 59581. To all alumni in the Islands: If you have lost contact with the Club, please send a card to the secretary with your name and address for our records.
