The first Dartmouth man to be selected as a Rhodes Scholar from California, Vincent W. Jones '52, who was notified on December 13 that he had been .successful in the Rhodes Scholarship national competition, plans to go to Oxford University, England, to continue the study of law. At present he is attending the Law School at Leland Stanford, where Carl B. Spaeth '29, Dean of the Law School, is a former Dartmouth Rhodes Scholar.

Vince Jones, whose record in college was outstanding in scholarship, sports and student government activities, is serving as the First Year Class Representative to the Stanford Law Association and also as athletic manager for Crothers Hall, the Law School dormitory. A member of Phi Beta Kappa at Dartmouth, he was also president of Palaeopitus and the Interfraternity Council, played two years on the varsity football team, and received many other honors for his campus extra-curricular activities.
