Mr. Chamberlin, chairman of a special committee, presented to the Council mimeographed copies of a portion of the minutes of the June meeting of the Alumni Council relating to the appointing of his committee. At that meeting the Council passed resolutions endorsing the action of Palaeopitus in vigorously opposing the use of intoxicating liquors in Hanover or wherever the name of Dartmouth is concerned. Mr. Chamberlin likewise had provided for the use of the Council copies of an editorial on the same subject appearing in the August number of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. In view of this position already taken the Committee recommended that no further action be had at this time. It was, however, moved and
Voted: That the editorial in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE for August, 1924, dealing with the abuse of liquor in connection with college functions be sent to reuning classes in the spring with the statement that this is done by action of the Council.
