The Harvey P. Hood Trophy for 1952 was presented to William L. Benger '31 at the New York Alumni Fund dinner on March 25. His citation for being one of the year's outstanding class agents follows:

The Harvey P. Hood Trophy is awarded each year to the most outstanding class agent of those who serve the classes eleven to twenty-five years out of college. Many fine performances were turned in by these fifteen men in 1952 but in the Alumni Fund Committee's judgment none was quite as excellent as the one we now recognize.

If participation is the criterion, this man has- the satisfaction of exceeding the Fund average in both his years of service with 83 and 84% of scoring base in 1951 1952 respectively. If dollar achievement is the measurement, we congratulate this agent on raising almost $14,000 in 1952, 104% of his assigned objective and by far the largest amount ever contributed by his class. If improvement is the yardstick, this alumnus is still exemplary for his was a class that scored 167 total points in 1950 and 188 in 1952: a sixth place class before and last year a Green Derby winner. On all counts, then, this man has proved himself worthy of highest class agent traditions. He has done it in the traditional way; by hard work, enthusiasm, imagination and initiative. He has won the affection and respect of his class, and his fellow Alumni Fund workers.

He has won too the admiration of the Alumni Fund Committee which is pleased at this time to honor this member of the Class of 1931, WILLIAM L. BENGER, by presenting him with this copy of Ernest Martin Hopkins' This Our Purpose as a token of the Hood Trophy.
