The beautiful terrace of the Southern Yacht Club overlooking Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans was the scene of a gala cocktail party and buffet supper on August 8. Transplanted Yankees by the score, longing for a respite (if only imaginary), from summer heat and humidity, cast all caution to the winds and a joint meeting with the local Cornell alumni group resulted! Moving spirits in the Dartmouth group were James W. Keating '41, and John J. Madigan '49. The evening was so delightful that plans are now brewing for another joint affair on the occasion of the annual football fracas with Cornell.

Dartmouth Indians and squaws in attendance were: Bunny Deutsch '35 (and wife Rosemary); Art Graham '24 (and wife Alice); Jim Keating '41 (and wife Bunny); Martin Kleckner '42 (and wife Barbara); John Madigan '49 (and wife Mary Jane); Bill Melohn '49 (and wife Ellen); Herman Obermayer '46; Seymour Ochsner '37 (and wife Helen).
