THE total of living Dartmouth alumni who matriculated in the undergraduate College was 25,473 as of January 1, 1954, it is reported by Miss Charlotte Ford, alumni recorder of the College, in her latest statistical study. This figure includes 18,257 living graduates and 7,216 nongraduates. The middle point of the Dartmouth alumni body is now the Class of 1935.

To the alumni figure for the College proper the report adds 1,003 other alumni, for a grand total of 26,476. These added alumni include: associated schools 442, advanced and special students 170, honorary degrees 126, honorary faculty degrees 123, and Navy affiliates 142.

The Alumni Records Office has lost track of only 199 of the grand total of 26,476 alumni. Only 25 of the 18,257 ing graduates of the College proper classify themselves as "not interested" in Dartmouth, but 595 of the 7,216 non-graduates, many of whom took their undergraduate degrees elsewhere, are in this classification.

Dartmouth's oldest living graduate, Franklin N. Newell '84 of Springfield, Mass., will be 94 years old on April 14. Others among the ten oldest living alumni, with their birthdays, are: John P. Brooks '85, September 24, 1861; Henry L. Parker '85, November 6, 1861; Josephs. Matthews '84, December 21, 1861; John F. Springfield '84, January 25, 1862; Warren S. Adams '85, November 4, 1862; Henry H. Austin '85, November 19, 1862; James W. Newton '86, February 20, 1863; Clarence E. Moulton '89, September 29, 1863; and Edwin H. Allen '85, April 16, 1864.
