The North Shore Dartmouth Club continues to enjoy one of its most active years on records On January 3 approximately eighty boys from local high and preparatory schools were entertained by a like number of alumni and undergraduates at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem. Eddie Chamberlain '36 was back in his "old stamping ground" to tell these young prospectives about the Liberal Arts College and more specifically what opportunities exist at Dartmouth. All those present seemed to agree that this was one of the most worthwhile activities the Club has sponsored, and barring admission difficulties, Eddie's masterful job should send more North Shore boys to Hanover.

Earlier in the fall the Club held a box lunch picnic and rally in the North Shore Sports Arena in Lynn just prior to the Holy Cross Game. The affair was attended by over 1000 alumni, families, and friends who heard President Dickey, Bill Cunningham, '19, M.C.Ed Butterworth '30, and the College Band kick off the 1953 football season. We believe that this was the first time any program such as this has been undertaken in this area and it was most gratifying to see such a large response from alumni and others interested in Dartmouth.

Present efforts are being directed mainly at getting the work of Ez Crowley '41 and his enrollment committee off to a flying start for 1954. President Charlie Brown '42 expressed his thanks to all those who have helped the Club in its activities and efforts to revive interest among the 400 alumni on the North Shore.
