Dan Beattie, vice principal of the Ft. Collins, Colo., High School, featured the February luncheon meeting of our Association with an illustrated talk on the Poudre River Canyon, and particularly his Boys Camp, M-M, located just over Cameron Pass on the western slope of the Continental Divide.
The business of the meeting consisted of a discussion of plans for the annual meeting, April 8, at which John Meek, '33, Vice President of the College, will be the principal speaker. Rick Rickenbaugh '28 appointed Norris Williamson '26, Fred Long '10 and DonMcKinlay '37 as a nominating committee for nomination of officers and a Class A and Class C trustee for the Association's elections to be held at the annual meeting.
Neil F. Roberts '35 has recently been elected executive vice president of the United States National Bank of Denver. Donald C.McKinlay '37 has been appointed by the chairman of the Democratic State Committee of Colorado to head up a committee to encourage qualified Democrats to run for Judge in the fall elections. Early in February, Television Station KOA-TV commenced operations from Denver over Channel 4. This station is owned by the Metropolitan Television Company of which Bill Grant '31 is president.
The alumni of this region welcome Torn R.Wyles Jr. '26, Donald F. Brown Jr. '50, William Carpenter 'go, James H. McCrum Jr. '50 and Thomas M. Hatchett '51 to our area and sincerely hope that they will attend our meetings.
Other welcome newcomers to our area are Edwin V. Post '51 with the United States Geological Survey, Mineral Deposits Branch, at the Federal Center, Denver, and Neil Judd '43, owner of the Ute Drug Company in Colorado Springs.
